Job Title: Foreman
Reports To: General Foreman
Job Overview: Lead, organizes and manages field operations for 2 to 5 person crew for site development, earthwork, environmental and erosion control services for power installation, access and repairs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Assists with general labor and equipment operation tasks and is responsible for field and crew, equipment operation and completing daily paperwork • Ensures proper installation and maintenance of temporary erosion and sediment control devices (seeding, straw blowing, matting, filter sock & silt fence) • Review construction plans to determine design, specifications and sequence of activities • Assist project management in ensuring that all work meets specifications • Maintains accurate reporting of materials used and time reporting of crew members • Must have ability to oversee entire construction project from start to finish • Must have operational experience with heavy equipment to communicate equipment limits and designed purposes • Must be accountable for equipment safety, maintenance and operation • Host daily safety meetings with team • Maintains safe, clean jobsite, vehicles and orderly work • Completes slope, rough and fine grading activities as necessary and place aggregate • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 4 + years experience in construction industry • High School diploma of GED equivalent • Attention to detail • Organizational skills • Current driver’s license and good driving record, CDL a plus • Experience with environmental oversight and DHEC/DNR a plus • Excellent communication skills • Ability to negotiate • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints • Ability to perform quality checks on equipment
