Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Operations and Customer Experience, the Warehouse Manager has the responsibility of leading the Duncan, Chatsworth, and Flushing Warehouse teams at a level that demands execution, core values and excitement. The Warehouse Manager will assist in developing and implementing long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity, quality, and success.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor day-to-day area operational systems and processes that provide
visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives
• Ensure Warehouse Inventory Control metrics are met through processes
that promote the safe storage, accurate record keeping, and handling of
company assets.
• Develop operational processes that positively impact the customer’s
direct experience.
• Ensure meaningful professional development for staff that encourages
them to be high performers in their current roles and offers them the
opportunity to identify and pursue career pathways throughout the
company.
• Support Operations Director with analyzing Warehouse operational
processes and performance and develop solutions for improvement.
• Maximize efficiency and productivity through process analysis and cross
functional collaboration
• Responsible to monitor and achieve key metrics for the day-to-day
performance of the Warehouse teams including, but not limited to Same
Day Shipping, Accuracy and Productivity.
• Lead Warehouse teams with integrity and establish and maintain a
trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing “A” players
• Uphold organization policies and standards, and regulations
• Assist in the managing and negotiation of key contracts and supplier
relationships related to operational overhead.
• Monitor facilities needs for all locations and work with Director of
Operations, Finance, and Owner to ensure building standards are met
and maintained.
Specific Measures of Success
1. Same Day Shipping: Goal of 99.7% for in stock orders for each location
2. Shipping Accuracy: Goal of 99.7% for each location
3. Staffing: Reduce operational turnover rate from current to and maintain
team with 75% A players
4. Resource Optimization: Achieve efficiency rate goals for each
warehouse location
5. Inventory – Achieve and maintain Inventory Accuracy rate of 98% in
each location
6. Returns: Achieve and maintain performance level of 90% handled
within SLA
7. Financial Responsibility: Achieve or beat assigned budget items
(Warehouse supplies, equipment costs, etc.)
Skills and Qualifications
• BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business
administration preferred
• 5+ years leadership role in the related field
• Established track record of exceeding targets, KPI’s and SLA’s
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and
databases
• Ability to travel to all warehouse sites
• Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum
efficiency and productivity
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills,
demonstrated by previous professional success
