Procurement & Inventory Specialist
We are currently seeking a Procurement & Inventory Specialist for an opportunity within our client’s team based in Gastonia, NC.

Position Summary
This role will be the direct point of contact for all materials sourcing and management throughout the company and all divisions thereunder while coordinating directly with the Finance Department. Oversight responsibilities of Fleet, Tools, & Facilities Coordinator.

Procurement/Inventory- Essential Functions
  • Requires minimum of 2+ years of inventory oversight and a year of purchasing experience.
  • Inventory oversight, maintenance, and upkeep through all relevant systems.
  • Providing tracking SKUs for inventory systems along with SKU nomenclature development.
  • Manage all POs through established and relevant systems.
  • Developing and maintaining procurement processes with controls ensuring competitive bids and purchases.
  • Ensuring proper and effective communication between all vendors both established and new.
  • Place all orders for new materials and company-wide purchases.
  • Track receipts and deliveries of orders on a real-time basis while coordinating with field personnel and project management teams remaining prepared to communicate real-time updates.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to divisional project managers.
  • Create, maintain, and present analytics on utilization between actuals and forecasted for justification and finance.
  • Maintain multiple methods including manual and automated systems to perform due diligence on materials purchasing to provide a multifarious approach on sourcing positively impacting costs.
  • Communicate with project management teams and finance on any information updates, such as supply delays, affecting job completion, cost analysis, or budgets.
  • Manage journal entries by class to perform final monthly analytics reflecting inventory including negatives and consumables.
  • Collaboratively spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes resulting in periodic, consistent, and accurate inventory cycle counts.
  • Collaboratively develop measurable methods ensuring clear reorder points for regular consumables.
  • Lead and collaborate with warehouse personnel to develop precise location tracking/housing of materials both matching through physical and systemic methods.
  • Ensure availability to support divisional field personnel outside of standard working hours.
Fleet Management- Essential Functions
  • Requires valid Driver’s License.
  • Mechanical understanding will be a great advantage in this role along with ability to learn new skills.
  • Oversee company leased and owned vehicles ensuring they are properly maintained and available for use when needed.
  • In conjunction with SHEQ Manager, investigate and report on vehicular accidents and incidents.  Escalate known or suspected misuse of, or inappropriate use of company fleet vehicles (e.g. loaned to non-authorized drivers)
  • Monitor logbooks to ensure internal compliance and maintenance reporting.  
  • Manage, schedule, and report all maintenance costs of entire fleet.  Maintain inventory of vehicles by division, and audit assigned vehicles on a regular basis.
  • Provide insight of vehicle retirement suggestions, replacements, and additions.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly cleaned, fueled and ready for morning deployments.  Monitor maintenance requirements, and ensure assigned drivers are complying with maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies around fleet management.
  • Ensure vehicle and trailer asset tags are maintained with DMV and tracked in QB.
Tool Procurement and Management- Essential Functions
  • Organizational tool management, deployment, purchasing and accountability. Including developing internal tool tracking policy and implementation.
  • Controllership of PP&E asset tags
  • Provides researched and appropriate tools recommendations to Purchasing for all tool purchases.  This includes maintaining standard new hire tool purchases.
  • Works with others to ensure tool counts and logs reconcile to QB.
  • Reports missing or mistreated tools to Department Manager for investigation.
  • Audits tools return for exiting employees; maintains list of tools provided to employees.
  • Responsible for tool certifications and maintained in good working condition. 
  • Ensures malfunctioning or inoperable tools are properly disposed of and removed from fixed asset list.
  • Maintain warranties on tooling.

  • Participate in special projects as they arise.
  • QuickBooks experience along with good math and finance skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with ability to work with pivot tables, formulas etc. 
  • Good communication skills with ability to work well with customers, vendors, management and peers.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, twist and reach on a regular basis.
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
