Process Control Technician
Pay and Shift:
Monday - Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm
$25/hr Direct Placement
Job Description (Essential Function):
The Process Control Technician is responsible for the maintaining site process control and related
electrical systems. This responsibility includes the safe work practice of installing, inspecting,
troubleshooting and repair of site process control systems hardware.
The Process Control Technician must:
- Read and understand blueprints, sketches, electrical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Have skill in the use of hand tools, electrical measuring equipment and power tools.
- Repair plant process control equipment.
- Have the ability to perform mathematical calculations and use electrical measuring devices.
- Use a personal computer or terminal.
Summary
Installation, maintenance and repair of site process control systems hardware. Provide support for process control and electrical systems for the daily operation of plant assets and project implementations. Follow all guidelines for the proper documentation of work information or activities involving the calibration or testing of equipment.

- 8000 Series I/O modules and carriers
- 16000 Series I/O
- Modicon Quantum I/O
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of PLC hardware
- Allen Bradley SLC 5/04, ControlLogix, CompactLogix
Modicon Quantum PLC and I/O
Schneider Electric M580 and M340 PLCs with X80 I/O
Siemens S7 and Siemens S5 PLCs and I/O
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial control networks.
- Ethernet
- Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet
- Serial Communications (RS-485, RS-232)
- Modbus, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DF-1, DH+, Profibus, Interbus
- Ethernet
- Must have knowledge of printer and network interface fundamentals.
- Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments to support routine maintenance and project needs.
- Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in identifying needed “preventive maintenance” actions as uncovered by observation, inspections, testing, or monitoring.
- Must be proficient in troubleshooting using loop drawing, schematics, PLC logic, electrical one-line, and P&ID drawings.
- Must be able to diagnose, repair or replace faulty industrial electronic components.
- Consult directly with equipment vendors on problems for resolution as necessary.
- Perform basic loop tuning
