Position Summary
Repair or direct all maintenance issues during the shift. Assist with line operation and operator breaks.
Core Responsibilities & Expectations:
Responsibility: Take ownership for the performance of the unit
1.Compliance Management System Leader/Participant
• All business activities are conducted lawfully and with integrity.
Raise issues or concerns through appropriate supervision. Lead
by example.
2.Ensure ESHA compliance
• Understand Key Compliance Drivers
• Zero KGM I&II injury (KPI)
• Participate in monthly safety meetings
• Generate at least 1 quality SOAR observation per month
• Complete at least 4 action plans/JSA’s per year
• Participate in at least 1 JHA
• Actively participate in and complete all compliance training
• Ensure the following are executed flawlessly:
o Safe Work Permits
o Confined Space Entry
o Hot Work
o Energy Control (LOTO)
o PPE
• Participate in quarterly Area Self-Assessments per EHS-11
3. Ensure customer satisfaction/quality
• Zero customer complaints due to not adhering to operating procedures
4. Operate unit to achieve key performance indicators
• Achieve quality yields by focusing on maintaining a quality product and minimizing waste and OQ
• Achieve Availability by proper interaction and routine inspection and cleaning of the process.
• Achieve Budget Cost by controlling maintenance and supplies spending
• Support initiatives that reduce utility costs
5. Maintain Adherence to the Work Processes
• Resolve most of the problems encountered in keeping the unit on target with assistance from immediate colleagues, including equipment problems for which he has been trained.
• Enlist additional plant resources as necessary to resolve gaps
• Use available time to perform Value Adding Tasks.
• Generate Quality Work Notifications
6. Monitor all functions of the stretch line process and maintain all production systems to the current standard operating conditions. When abnormal conditions arise, must be able to troubleshoot the process and take the appropriate preventative and corrective actions to SAFELY bring the process back to target.
• Understand the process safety procedures and know how and when to correctly respond to events.
• Able to safely and efficiently shut down and restart stretch lines to make equipment repairs or process adjustments.
• Take a leadership role and responsibility for the crew’s maintenance activities.
• Understand the product specifications/quality parameters that are measured in the production area and know what action to take if out of control and/or off target. Notify supervisor of any issues.
• Has basic knowledge of STARS systems and can maneuver in the system as needed.
• Know how to accurately respond/troubleshoot process upsets.
• Must be able to record process and quality data in the appropriate systems and communicate to supervisor/optimizer when there are issues.
• Can effectively communicate issues through e-mail, conversation, and drawings.
• Responsible for housekeeping in work area.
• Responsible to be at work, on time, and “fit” for work on all scheduled work days.
• Understand the 6S process and fully support all efforts. Be a leader of 6S for the other operators.
7. Responsibilities and Expectations for Quality and Food Safety:
• Support the ongoing effectiveness of the quality and food safety management system by being trained and following applicable procedures, programs and responsibilities, keeping a hygienic work area, reporting any quality or food safety concerns (including but not limited to leaks, pests, packaging, storage, products, control measures, raw materials, production equipment changes etc.) or other conditions that have impact on food safety, quality or food grade products timely to the food safety team, leader, internal audit team or a member of management.
