Job Title: End Welder Operator

Hours: 1st shift – 6:00am-2:30pm Monday - Friday

For our Steel Manufacturing / Machining company in Laurens, SC, TRS Craft Services is looking for a competent End Welder Operator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Role Overview: As an End Welder, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless production of steel by setting up and operating butt welders for various gauges of material

• Set up butt welders for each gauge of material and weld coil ends together.
• Identify butt welds, gauge changes, and coil numbers with paint.
• Maintain a continuous supply of steel in the accumulator to keep the mill running smoothly.
• Assist in mill changeovers as needed.
• Complete all required operating reports and quality reports.
• Assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs.
• Support other operators during breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtime.
• Report any irregularities or malfunctions to managers or maintenance staff.
• Empty all scrap buckets and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Operate controls for leveler/End welder.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Completion of military service is considered equivalent to a 2-year degree.

Attention to detail, dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic

• Tube mill manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions, basic computer skills, and proficiency in reading measuring devices/equipment and basic math.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Visual acuity for reading and recording numerical data.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, handle objects, reach, lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull, with the capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to relocate for the position.
