SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provides quality assurance and engineering technical expertise to fully support manufacturing operations in accordance with customer and business requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
➢ Ensures product quality is defined, achieved, maintained and monitored for all parts and processes
➢ Leads continuous improvement through root cause and statistical analysis of manufacturing processes
➢ Recommends, determines and/or implements appropriate corrective action for quality issues
➢ Creates highly detailed documentation for development and manufacture of products
➢ Confers with engineering and manufacturing teams on business and customer quality requirements
➢ Assists and/or leads quality engineering and related projects to meet Lean and customer-based targets
➢ Develops, presents and discusses proposals and refinements for new and existing products/processes
➢ Provides guidance and expertise to manufacturing teams on application and methods
SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:
Quality Engineering
• Assists in establishing, implementing and maintaining ISO Quality Management System and elements
• Performs routine inspections and audits of processes and data in accordance with defined sampling plans including 1st article, work-in-process, borescope, Final inspection, gage calibration and record-keeping.
• Analyzes failures; identifies corrective and preventative actions, follow-ups and closure of cases
• Determines quality improvement parameters through statistical and root cause analysis including Cpk, Ppk.
• Ensures timely resolution of internal, supplier and escape defects and/or failures
• Creates and maintains quality documentation i.e. manuals, procedures, manufacturing changes, etc.
• Identifies, implements and promotes Continuous Improvement across all business elements
• Manages, monitors and audits supplier acceptance requirements, performance and defects
• Understands capability of manufacturing operations including quality, lean manufacturing, personnel, etc.
• Supports manufacturing operations team: provides input for routers, inspection criteria, process flow, etc.
• Develops and recommends resources and methods for material and processes; assists with quotations
• Estimates, tracks and evaluates project costs including time, material, outside special processes, etc.
• Understands customer and business requirements for product qualifications (FPQs)
o Writes, creates and assembles multi-sectioned qualification binders
o Bubbles drawings, CAV (Characteristics & Accountability Verification) forms
o Collects material, process and conformance certifications, charts, etc.
o Manages multiple FPQs with overlapping deadlines
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs work within the scope of abilities and all quality and safety policies and practices
- Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner
- Accepts other assigned related duties as trained and capable
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As determined and defined through the scope of the assigned workgroup and its functions
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Must have excellent organizational, communication and project management skills
• Must be able to handle information in a confidential manner
• Must be able to read, write and speak in the English language and be understood
• Must be able to interact diplomatically with people - both in person and through all mediums
• Must be able to read, interpret, understand and create drawings, routers and process specs
• Must be able to manage and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects
• Must be able to work independently and make good, sound and timely decisions
• Must be proficient and accurate in the use of company computer software programs
• Must be able to understand and fully support the company Mission, Safety and Quality policies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum (4) year degree in Mechanical, Process or Applications engineering or other related field
• 3-5 years of applicable engineering/quality experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided-Design (CAD), Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Failure Effects Mode Analysis (FEMA), PPAP and APQP desired
• 3-5 years of CMM Programming experience – complete process from model to program desired
• Experience with C++, JAVA, Python desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Physical activity includes:
o Frequently - sitting, walking, standing, typing, assembling papers, reading, talking
o Occasionally - bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to forty pounds unassisted
• Must be able to safely operate an automobile for short and long distances
