For our Steel Manufacturing / Machining company in Laurens, SC, TRS Craft Services is looking for a Facility Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.

Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire
Compensation: $30/hr-$32/hr
Hours: 1st shift – 6:00am-2:30pm Monday - Friday

This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various maintenance tasks, including HVAC/R systems, Electrical, Plumbing and the use of precision measuring instruments. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in maintaining equipment functionality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on facility equipment and systems, including HVAC/R units.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements during repairs and installations.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
• Operate scissor lifts safely for maintenance tasks at elevated heights.
• Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of low voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with technical sales teams to provide insights on equipment needs and improvements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Skills

• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments for accurate assessments.
• Experience with welding techniques and equipment.
• Familiarity with operating scissor lifts in a safe manner.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems within a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of reading schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
• Solid mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in facilities maintenance.
• Understanding of low voltage electrical systems is a plus.
• Experience or interest in technical sales is beneficial.
