Pay: $35.87/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Type: Contract-to-Hire (Conversion after 600 hours)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of commercial/industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role supports heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, cooling towers, and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of documented journeyman-level HVAC experience
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License
- Active HVAC Journeyman or Master HVAC License
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, install, and modify HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, refrigeration units, and related systems
- Troubleshoot and replace components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, controls, valves, relays, belts, and heat exchangers
- Perform HVAC-related electrical work, including wiring, motors, and control systems
- Rebuild compressors, pumps, safety valves, and other mechanical components
- Install and repair copper tubing, piping, and refrigeration systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, vacuum pumps, and testing instruments
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting and repair
- Chiller, boiler, cooling tower, and refrigeration system maintenance
- Pneumatic controls and air compressor systems
- Electrical troubleshooting and motor controls
- Welding, brazing, and soldering
- HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Routine lifting of 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, crawling, and reaching
- Exposure to moving machinery, temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and gases
Ideal Candidate
A licensed HVAC Journeyman or Master Technician with strong experience in commercial or industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and electrical controls, who is looking for a long-term opportunity with conversion potential after approximately 600 hours.
