Position – Extruder Operator

Work Schedule – Rotating 12-hr shifts and some overtime required

Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills
• Must have at least 1 year of industrial experience
• Must have a good work history; a proven job performance history
• Possess solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Possess good planning and organizational skills
• Must have good communication skills both verbal and written
• Previous forklift experience
• Self-motivated and have ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Capable of reading and following instructions to produce a quality product and work safely
• Adequate physical dexterity to operate hand tools such as scissors, utility knives, wrenches and spatulas
• Ability to handle hand held aspirator and operate hoist
• Ability to perform mathematical equations.
• Possess good computer skills

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Start-up and shut-down of extruder system
• Setup extruder per SOC and monitor system
• Monitor extruder temperature and pressure controls and troubleshoot any issues
• Monitor chip transfer system and troubleshoot any issues
• Complete daily inspections of system
• Complete daily operator PM activities to maintain system
• Perform material changes for product transitions
• Change screen changer screens as needed based on polymer feed
• Complete month end inventories
• Follow detailed instructions and complete necessary forms
• Operate fork truck, transport master bags and empty/full metal bins
Preferred Requirements
• Previous extruder experience
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, maintain, and perform routine maintenance on machinery
• Familiar with extruder dowtherm system to assist with troubleshooting
