Shift: Day Shift | Location: Shop and Travel
A North American leader in Construction Site Services, Product Distribution, and Equipment Rental is seeking an Equipment Field Service Technician to regionally support its rental fleet, including field service and repairs. The position is based out of the Harrison, OH facility.
Summary
The Equipment Field Service Technician is a member of the field service team, handling all aspects of inspection, repair, troubleshooting, and service/maintenance both in the shop and in the field on service calls. Equipment serviced includes aerial lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, and other industrial construction equipment.
Travel is primarily local to regional, working within an approximate 200-mile radius. Occasional overnight travel may be required based on workload.
Responsibilities
Performs major and, in many cases, non-routine service repairs to customer- and company-owned equipment in the shop and/or in the field, including customer and project sites.
Completes required documentation, including work orders, parts orders, billing, and warranty information, as applicable.
Assists other technicians with advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution as needed.
Communicates frequently with customers regarding repairs and service needs.
Maintains an orderly work area and service truck.
Remains compliant with all applicable company policies, procedures, and standards.
Adheres to and supports all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Meets attendance and punctuality expectations.
Plans, organizes, and carries out assignments as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
Ability to reference, understand, and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
Combination of education and related equipment repair experience totaling five years.
Job-related technical knowledge required to perform the role successfully.
Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
Experience servicing equipment such as aerial lifts, forklifts, compressors, welding machines, and other general industrial construction equipment.
Professional, customer service–oriented demeanor.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to meet non-CDL driver requirements, including MVR review, driver physical, and road test.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assist in training other technicians as requested.
Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting, climbing, prolonged standing, and working in inclement weather as required.
Willingness to work overtime (including weekends) and occasional overnight travel.
Required to supply own basic tools; larger tools are provided.
