Harrison, OH
Day Shift: 7AM to 3:30PM
Pay: $20 hrly
We are looking to hire an experienced Temporary Yard Helper (with Rigging) to work out of our Harrison, OH facility. In this role, you will be responsible for operating equipment and setting up rigging for the movement of heavy equipment. Rigging duties include preparing materials before loading, setting up rigging equipment, operating heavy machinery, and dismantling rigging after the job is complete.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved.
- Set, align, and level heavy equipment machinery.
- Select appropriate rigging gear.
- Prepare rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
- Inspect rigging before final use.
- Monitor and maintain rigging equipment.
- Maneuver loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the rigging and operating team.
- Break down rigging equipment and conduct post‑rigging inspections.
- Complete equipment inspection checklists daily prior to equipment use.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure work areas are organized efficiently while maintaining security and safety measures.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year operating heavy equipment with exposure/experience in rigging.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of crane operation hand signals.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
- Knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
- Excellent hearing and vision.
- High-level organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability and desire to learn crane operations.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Able to perform physical job requirements, including routinely lifting 60 lbs., climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Sit/drive, stand, walk, lift/carry, reach, stoop, push/pull.
- Handle, grasp, and feel materials and equipment.
- Talk, hear, climb step ladders, and perform repetitive motions.
- Demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination.
