"Experienced Sr Construction Equipment Technician/Mechanic"
**Candidates must have mechanic experience working with Construction/Heavy Equipment
Working Hours: M - F 8:00am to 4:30pm with 30 min lunch break
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform major (non-routine) service repairs to customer and company owned equipment either in the Branch or field location
• Safely load and unload equipment for transporting
• Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders, parts orders and billings, and warranty information
• Maintain an orderly work area
• Assist other technicians in advanced trouble shooting and problem resolution; nay serve as team leader in major assembly/disassembly and repairs
• Communicate with customers concerning repair and service needs; this communication is frequent and critical
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
Typical Minimum Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills
• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to five (5) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Working Conditions
• Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
• Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels
Preferred Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a plus
• Hydraulics, electrical, engines, and power train certification preferred
• Five (5) years of experience, preferably in construction equipment industry
• Physically able to squat, stoop, bend, climb, lie on back, lift and pull, reach up and out, lift 70 lbs., carry 50 lbs., and use a 10 lb. sledge hammer (or global weight equivalents)
• Thorough knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, schematics, drive train, and diesel/gasoline engines
• Able to analyze and diagnose and execute most repairs on various types of construction equipment
• Excellent communication skills dealing with customers and team members
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs
