Shift: 7am to 4pm (up to 7 days a week based on project demands)
Pay range: $40+/hour (DOE)
Per diem: offered for non-locals
Crane Assembler will support the erection of stiff-legged derrick cranes on a high-profile bridge construction project. Ideal candidate will be able to travel for projects as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Participate in site visits as necessary to direct crane erection and disassembly sequencing.
• Participate in field calls with Engineering Service Division (ESD) Operations to discuss initiatives, issues, best practices, and processes.
• Assists to create, maintain, and provide inventory of attachments and components as commercially required.
• Assists with identifying and locating crane components prior to ship/build date.
• Inspects, repairs, trouble shoots, performs maintenance and assembly of heavy equipment including cranes, hoists, and derricks.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
• High School diploma or GED
• Associates or Vocational degree preferred
• TWIC card preferred
Experience:
• 3+ years' experience assembling and disassembling cranes
• Experience inspecting/repairing/troubleshooting/maintaining & assembling heavy equipment
Skills/Knowledge:
• Advanced knowledge of Crane functionality and terminology
• Advanced knowledge of prohibitions, warnings, and cautions relative to assembling or disassembling each specific type of crane
• Advanced ability to follow instructions and sequence of a crane's assembly/disassembly per Manufacturers' instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Analytical skills, able to understand and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints
Additional Requirements:
• Must be able to submit to pre-employment screenings successfully
• Must be able to travel regularly as needed
• Must have valid driver license and clean driving record
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
