TRS Craft Services has an immediate need to hire Communication Technicians for our client’s Denver, CO location.

What Will You Do?
As a Communication Technician, you will receive classroom and hands-on training as part of a formal training program. You will be taught the dynamic workings of the commuter railroad network, as well as the communication infrastructure. The duties of the communication technician employees include but are not limited to:
  • Maintenance, inspection, testing and repair of communications systems used in train control equipment.
  • Alignment, adjustment, and calibration of instruments and equipment as a result of testing.
  • Troubleshooting of faulty equipment, electronic components, and circuits to locate defects and diagnose causes of malfunction.
  • Replacement and repair of defective wiring and components, and/or adjustment of mechanical parts.
  • Maintenance of records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and tests in Asset Works management system.
  • Maintenance, inspection, testing and repair of the Operations Control Center (OCC) system and wayside equipment along all corridors.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party in maintaining client’s communication systems.
  • Perform the work of other classifications of employees for which the employee is qualified as determined by the company in its sole discretion.
  • All other work assigned by the company in its sole discretion as Communication’s work.
Qualifications: 
  • Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, and/or procedures in the telecommunications field.
  • Background in electronics/communications system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, preferred.
  • Experience in the inspection, testing, and repair of radio telecommunications systems and equipment, preferred.
  • Experience in railroad train control inspection, maintenance and repair, preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, laptop, tablet, and smartphone.
  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends, including working overtime as needed.
  • Must possess a valid State of Colorado driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug/alcohol test.
  • This is a union role, must be able to adhere to union and company guidelines.

This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the Federal Railroad Administration and their Drug and Alcohol Policy. 


Pay:
Our Communication Technicians can expect to earn an hourly wage between $31.19 to $35.38 per hour.
