CNC Machinist - CNC 5 Axis Milling

$22-24.00 to start
6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday;
Overtime available/may be required on some Fridays

80.00 hours of Paid Time Off per year! (prorated based on start date for current year) - increases to 3 weeks of PTO hours after 5 years!

10 Company Holidays!

This is not an entry level position. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Team member who routinely sets up and operates manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) shop equipment using drawings and prints to consistently produce high quality parts for the Power Generation/Industrial Gas Turbine industry within the repair and rework area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set-up manual and CNC machines for production and prototype operation
Read and understand drawings and prints to produce parts as required
Make critical machine adjustments to maintain production rate and quality
Modify existing machine tool programs at control interface
Create precision machining programs using company software programming tools
Know how to inspect part characteristics at in-process and final check points
Assist in teaching and setting-up machines/equipment
SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:
Equipment Preparation, Set-up, Operation, Cleaning and Maintenance

Set-up and/or breakdown equipment, fixtures, tooling, etc for production and prototype parts
Proficiently produce simple and complex finished and semi-finished parts at the highest standards
Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean and organized
Perform, monitor and teach routine and preventative maintenance of machines and equipment
Anticipate, identify, resolve and/or notify supervisor of maintenance issues
Productivity

Monitor workstation(s) queue volume; notify supervisor as needed to assure smooth efficient flow
Review, request and/or verify tooling is complete and ready for set-ups well in advance of need
Make recommendations for improvements to all processes, procedures and policies
Assist supervisor in ensuring department production, efficiency and safety goals are met
Work with Engineering and Quality to identify process strengths, weaknesses and alternatives
Provide support to engineering for development of parts and processes
Demonstrate proficiency in CNC-related programming and drawing software
Quality Assurance – Inspection, Dimensional Checks, Part Appearance, Conformance

Perform First Piece and routine in-process inspections within the scope of Quality guidelines.
Monitor part quality and conformance as needed during each production run
Look for, resolve/report product quality defects, quantity discrepancies, documentation errors, etc
Promote, guide and assist others to meet Quality policy, ISO standard, customer expectations, etc
Instruct and mentor department members on part cleanliness, uniform finish, workmanship, etc
Perform other tasks as trained and able

G/M Code Machine Programming
Keen Attention to Detail
Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirement:
1. Verifiable High School Diploma/GED
2. 7+ years of applicable experience machining in a manufacturing setting
3. Employment of at least one year in current job and conduct/performance of good standing
