Position Summary:
The CDL Delivery Driver supports our local customer base and project site deliveries and pick-ups in a safe and timely manner. Travel is primarily local, within an approximate 200-mile radius. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and pick up materials, supplies, and rentals, complete applicable paperwork in a safe and timely manner.
Load, unload, move, and/or store product according to delivery or routing documents or supervisor instructions (must be able to drive and operate a forklift).
Keep supervisor(s) informed regarding special requests and priority changes.
Organize and complete appropriate paperwork and logs accurately and legibly.
Perform general truck maintenance, including routine pre- and post-trip inspections; report safety/maintenance concerns and maintain truck cleanliness.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers while providing exceptional customer service.
Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed.
Crosstrain and perform backup branch duties as requested.
Follow up and resolve customer complaints/concerns promptly.
Remain compliant with all applicable Federal, state, local, DOT regulations and safety policies.
Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, and one year of experience, OR
A combination of education and directly related experience equal to five (5) years.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a valid CDL A or B driver’s license.
Minimum of one year CDL driving experience with a clean driving record.
Must comply with applicable DOT regulations.
Able to drive and safely operate a forklift (forklift certification required).
Must be able to climb a ladder and routinely lift 50 lbs while meeting physical demands associated with loading/unloading materials and operating a forklift.
Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
Required to wear company-issued PPE on all job sites.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adhere to deadlines.
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
Capable of multi-tasking and adapting to changing priorities.
Certifications:
Must maintain a clean driving record and valid Class A or B CDL.
