Are you looking for a Warehouse Supervisor opportunity here in the Charleston area?
We are currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for a parts warehouse here in the Charleston area. We are seeking candidates with at least 4+ years of Management experience within a logistics operation. The Warehouse Supervisor position is responsible for directing and managing the activities of warehouse personnel to ensure that production and accuracy standards are met. Primary responsibilities include supervising the work of the warehouse including defining and achieving goals for safety, customer service, accuracy and efficiency. Creating a positive and safe work environment for all employees. Ideal candidates will have experience working with LTL and FTL freight handling.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and coordinate all inbound or outbound activity. Orderly stacking and labeling of product. Verify required inbound and outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted. Ensure inbound or outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Ensure workers have adequate supplies. (tape,shrink wrap,pallets) Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment. Maintain product locator system. Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. In charge of demurrage on ocean containers Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA an MSDS standards. Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
Required Qualifications of the Warehouse Supervisor:
4+ years of warehouse or shipping management experience Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) software Ability to work different shifts as necessary including occasional to frequent overtime Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
