TRS Craft Services is looking for a Laboratory Technician to work at a refinery located in Tucson, AZ.

Pay rate: $20 p/hr
Schedule: 12 hrs shift (day or night) 3 off-4 on -4 off-3 on, on-off-on-off

Scope:
Performs inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process and final products samples. Communicates results to operations in a timely manner to maintain Quality Control of operation processes.

Position Responsibilities:
• Ensures product quality of alumina-based products
• Determines the chemical purity and/or content of alumina-based products and plant-related samples, including waste streams, using state-of-the-art
instrumentation
• Performs diverse chemical and/or physical analysis on products, specialty products, intermediate solids and solutions associated with the Tucson manufacturing
process
• Collects, organizes and documents data
• Responsible for entering results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database
• Maintains accurate records of all laboratory tests
• Responsible of creating laboratory run sheets
• Performs basic equipment troubleshooting as necessary to maintain laboratory instrumentation
• Notifies supervisor, operations and other parties when out of specification and/or control results are found
• Complies with Document Management strategy for the company along with the policies and procedures that address quality assurance, information standards,
and regulations pertaining to Document Management
• Assists to continuous improvement efforts to optimize plant performance.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology preferred
• One year experience as Laboratory Technician or Analyst, in either chemical or regulated industry
• Basic knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
• Basic statistics knowledge (variation, trend analysis)
• Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills
• Must have good oral and written communication skills
