INDUSTRIAL PAINTER
STATUS: FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE
WORK EXPERIENCE: 2-5 YEARS EXPERIENCE
Position Overview: Responsible for painting all company products that need to be painted. Needs to have knowledge in using HVLP, Airless, gravity gun, etc.
Painting, using:
• Airless paint system
• Pressure pots
• Spray guns
• Rollers and brushes
Preparing surface for painting:
• Sanding, cleaning blasted surface.
• Sanding, cleaning painted surfaces that require another coat.
• Masking the areas that will not be painted with masking tape, masking paper and plastic lining
Performing quality checks regularly and doing touch ups when necessary.
• Looking for “fish eye”.
• Looking for under sprays.
• Looking for run downs.
• Looking for scratches.
• Checking for proper cure.
Getting familiarized with every job (small or big).
• Studying and comprehending the specs for every job.
• Keeping a binder with the specs for quick reference.
• Studying and comprehending product data sheets (PDS) and Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Keeping a binder for (PDS) and (MSDS).
Keeping track of paint used and report to the office every day.
• Keeping a paint use log.
• Maintaining the log every day.
• Performing tests (DFT, WFT, Holliday test, etc.) if necessary for paint reports, or quality assurance, and reporting results to the office.
• Obtaining knowledge on various test equipment.
• Being responsible for safe use and storage of the equipment.
• Maintenance of all paint equipment.
• Performing cleaning of the lines and the equipment used after every paint job.
• Understanding what type of cleaning procedures and solvents to use with various type of paint.
• Obtaining knowledge of all equipment used at the paint department.
• Obtaining knowledge of mechanics of paint equipment.
• Being able to disassemble, assemble all paint equipment.
• Being able to do basic maintenance on paint equipment.
• Keeping the paint area and the paint booth area clean and organized.
• Having knowledge of proper disposal of used paint and solvents.
• Properly disposing of used paint and solvents.
• Taking 5S ownership of the paint area.
• Keeping track of use, and periodically check the quality of the paint booth filters.
• Performing filter change if necessary.
• DEPENDABLE TRANSPORTATION
• AVAILABLE FOR OVERTIME HOURS
• SOME SATURDAY WORK
Job Type: Full-time
Pay $19.00- $22.00 hr
