Position Description

The overall duties of a Continuous Improvement Engineer Include:
  • Lead process improvement teams to achieve desired results 
  • Mentor associates in lean principles and methodologies. 
  • Provide information and technical support to plant management as needed. 
  • Advocate changes in culture needed to drive continuous improvement; sometimes called upon to be a contrarian voice. 
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and presents those opportunities to department heads for consideration and action. 
  • Must adhere to all Company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

Position Requirements
Characteristics:
  • Demonstrates strong personal organization practices 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in project management driving efficiency and waste elimination  
  • Deadline-oriented and able to coordinate multiple projects 
  • Able to lead cross-functional teams 
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Analytical thinker with above average problem-solving skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio 
  • Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes 
  • Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors 
Education and Technology:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related technical field, or 
  • 5 years’ experience in a continuous improvement role within a manufacturing organization 
  • Knowledgeable of TPS (Toyota Production System) principles of Lean Manufacturing 
  • Knowledgeable of Toyota Kata
