The stuff you need to know and do!

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Interpret and comprehend Technical Schematics, Blueprints, Operational Manuals. Maintenance
Manuals and other drawings to productively install controls and/or special building system
installations.
• Install conduit and low voltage wire, Ethernet cable (twisted pair, stranded and or solid conductor low
voltage) for controls and/or special building systems.
• Route cable through conduit, above ceilings and between floors per job specifications
• Accurately terminate low voltage wiring for controls and/or special building systems at panel.
• Support and lead installation personnel on project sites.
• Assist as required troubleshooting efforts during either the static or dynamic start up or commissioning
of building controls and special systems.
• Provide support to solve building operating issues for the controls or special systems operation.
• Provide input to others as requested on design and installation for building systems.
• Provide documentation including daily logs, etc. as required for assigned projects.
• Assist in preparing of As-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
• Provide up-to-date As-built information as required including locations for sensors, panels, database,
code, etc.
• Inspect work done by other employees or subcontractors to ensure all of our work is per code and
meets acceptable levels of craftsmanship.
• Know industry standards (NEC)
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum of high school diploma.
• Three years of low voltage installation in controls or special systems preferred.
• Experience and expertise including but not limited to:
o An understanding of basic computer operation.
o A clear ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, etc.
o The ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical, control,
and special system diagrams.
o A working understanding of low and high voltage AC circuitry including transformers, fuses, breakers,
multi-phase power, etc.
o An understanding of the construction industry including safety, electrical codes, etc.

Essential Functions:
• Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
• Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
• Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
• Maintain a satisfactory driving record which allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.
